- "President Bush defended embattled Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld on Monday, saying the Pentagon chief was doing 'a really fine job.'"
I sent an email to White House this morning, urging the President to come out in public suppport of Sec. Rumsfeld. Rumi has done an amazing job of managing our troops in this time of war and deserves our respect and support. Instead, some within our own party (namely the giant AZ ego himself) have sought to undermined Rumsfeld's performance. Nothing would make the Dems happier than to see Rumsfeld go, since they couldn't get Bush in Nov. Perhaps the Presidential nod of approval will shut up the chattering classes. It is incumbent on the party to make sure that McCain et al. know how unacceptable this sort of internal sniping is. Does McCain actually believe this is illustrative of the type of presidential demeanor he'll need to get elected in 2008?
